| This research aimed to access farmer participatory breeding in selecting the local upland rice varieties for desirable agronomic traits, good cooking and eating grain characteristics. The research carried out in the land reform area of amphoes Mueang, Lamae, Thung Tako in Chumphon province. The experiment comprised 12 upland rice varieties, 11 experimental lines and 1 standard check, by using the Randomized Complete Block design with 4 replications. Results indicated that farmers had selected Samdeaun, Phukhaotong, Nahngkruan, Lebnok and Dawkkham varieties for desirable agronomic traits with reasonable uniform panicle, good tillering ability, long panicle, many secondary branches, large and heavy grains. | Development of a native swine raising model, base on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, emphasized the participatory approach of stakeholders. The areas and target population were purposively chosen from Ban Si Liam Yai, Lam Plaimas district, Buriram province and Ban Lak Sip-kao, Champasak, Lao PDR. The model was constructed by employing various tools such as observation, interview, A-I-C technique, study tours, SWOT analysis and experiment. The CRD was used with three treatments of protein levels in feed and four replications ineach treatment. | This research objectives study local knowledge of rice landraces, role of farmer and other organizations, factors that have influence for rice landraces conservation of farmers community in northeastern Thailand, and classified as microsatellites of rice landraces analysis based. This results shown that farmers have local knowledge about conservation and management of rice landraces on-farm and conducted rice cultivar difference. Rice utilization have foods, herbal, exchange, animal feeding, sweets, ritual, local whisky, and income.
